Post-Christmas Declutter [Dec. 29th, 2010|05:46 pm]

I received the sad news of my Step-Grandmother's death yesterday morning, and I don't know exactly why but I have been full of energy, and have been decluttering. I suppose it's a distraction. I read somewhere once that you shouldn't declutter when you are emotional, so I have just been decluttering non-emotional stuff, kitchen cupboards, the airing cupboard, toiletries. I have also been putting lots of small things where they belong. It is amazing the difference this makes. It leaves questions unanswered, such as why do I have 4 opened jars of honey in the cupboard?

I have decided that my theme word, what I am working towards in 2011 will be consistency. Which includes staying on top of my clutter all the time not just in fits and bursts. Wish me luck I think I will need it :)

I'm sorry for your loss.

I find in tiomes of trial, stress etc I declutter and clean/ tidy frantically. I think I believe/ hope imposin order on physical things might improve the chaos in my mind. Not sure that it works but at least I end up with a clean and tidy house.

Thankyou, she lived a long and good life, and raised three good sons.

I think you are right, it is about controlling what you can, and creating order. I am shattered now, so will hopefully sleep better than last night.
